For 50 years now, PUQ’s priority has been to offer their authors national and international visibility. PUQs in a few figures:
In 2008, the Supdeco Dakar Group launched the Doctoral School, based on the achievements of the Master’s programme and on the various scientific research experiences of our participating professors.
The programme aims to provide its students with a high level of training and scientific supervision. The main features of this programme are:
Emphasis is placed on methodological aspects and on the development and development of scientific communication and publishing skills in order to promote high-level scientific research. Scientific publications and active participation in international conferences and symposia are in fact requirements of the Graduate School towards its doctoral students. This orientation ensures quality teacher-researcher products that are competent to ensure the next generation, especially faculty.
In most of our respective countries, there is a national research system that our PhD students can integrate. This allows young investigators in training to interact with experienced senior investigators, providing them with complementary research tools as well as ethical elements. This is also the first step in publishing scientific papers.
Some courses and lectures will be in English, which implies a good command of the language. The general structure of the courses offered, the specializations offered, the portfolio of courses offered and the faculty are of high quality and comparable to those of the doctoral programmes of international universities in Europe and the United States.
This international openness is manifested both by the incorporation of doctoral students from other sister African countries and by the contributions of leading international experts from partner universities. PhD students are encouraged to take part in international seminars and symposia, and to stay in university research institutes in order to be able to get in touch with the best in their respective specialties.
One of the objectives of the Graduate School is to train leading specialists in their respective fields, while at the same time having an in-depth recognition of the chosen discipline, so that our continent can better benefit from the skills of its experts. PhD students must be able not only to have an in-depth knowledge of their field of specialization, but also to have a wider recognition of the different major theoretical currents for a better mastery of management issues.
Courses are offered in such a way as to strike a balance between the methodological aspects required for the technical master’s degree in management sciences and specific specialization courses to cover in depth the chosen discipline.
This doctoral programme is based on the knowledge gained during the Master’s course and on the various scientific research experiences of our participating professors. The quality of our Master’s training has done much to strengthen the brand image of the Supdeco Dakar Group, in particular the level of integration of its products.
This doctoral programme aims to train research experts who can successfully assume responsibilities in university teaching and the training of high-level and high-quality managers, basic and applied research within the Research Institute, both public and private, consultancy and expert advice to our states and companies, etc.
