Academic Visit of Transport and Logistics Students to the Diamniadio National Interest Market

Students in the third year of the Bachelor’s degree (Licence 3) in Transport and Logistics at SUPDECO carried out an academic visit to the Marché d’Intérêt National (MIN) of Diamniadio, managed by SEMIG. They were accompanied by their academic supervisors as part of the program’s practical training activities.

This professional immersion allowed the students to discover how a strategic logistics and commercial platform for Senegal operates, as well as the modern infrastructure dedicated to storage, distribution, and the management of goods flows.

Through this visit, the students gained a better understanding of the challenges related to the supply chain, market provisioning, food product management, and the role of the MIN in economic development and the modernization of trade in Senegal.

Discussions with SEMIG managers and professionals provided the students with a concrete view of the realities of the transport and logistics sector, while also highlighting the career opportunities available in these fields.

This enriching experience represents an important step in their academic journey, strengthening the connection between theoretical learning and real-world practices observed in the field.

We extend our sincere thanks to the SEMIG officials and the team at the Marché d’Intérêt National of Diamniadio for their warm welcome, availability, and the quality of the exchanges, which greatly contributed to the success of this educational visit.
