Launch Master Manager of Media Company – Supdeco Dakar x the National Audiovisual Institute (INA) of France

The media is changing paradigm. The digital revolution is upsetting the rules of the game as well as the business models and organisation of media companies, which need to be constantly reinvented. The digital revolution should no longer be seen as a threat, but as an opportunity to explore new territories.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Executive Master Manager of Media Enterprise in collaboration with the National Audiovisual Institute (INA), the first European training centre for audiovisual and digital media professions.

This rich, diverse and comprehensive program addresses topics at the heart of the industry’s current concerns: Economic Issues, Media Brand, Digital Transition, Management Issues and HR.

We are convinced that this new Master will be a valuable tool for leaders in the media and communication industry and look forward to seeing its impact in Africa.

On the sidelines of the launch ceremony, a panel was held on the theme “New paradigms in the training of media executives”, moderated by:

Mr Grégoire Cairole-Brihaye, Head of Development at INA,
Mamadou Ibra KANE, Chairman of CDEPS and Director AFRICOME SA,
Ms. Yasmine SY SARR, Academic Director
Ousmane GUEYE, IT Journalist and moderator of the Panel.

During the Master’s launch ceremony, Ms. Yasmine Sy Sarr said that the Executive Master focuses on economic issues, managerial issues, Human Resources (HR) and digital developments. Thus, it is emphasized that the program aims to provide analytical grids and keys to understanding the new issues specific to the media sector in Africa.

“This new training will meet the needs of all professionals in the media sector in Africa in view of the many developments observed in the sector, starting with DTT and the impact of digital on the various professions that also concern players in the audiovisual and digital media sectors, including TV, radio, etc.” suggests Mr Grégoire Cairole-Brihaye, Head of Development at INA

A well-received programme that “comes on time” according to Mamadou Ibra Kane, President of the Council of Broadcasters and Press Publishers of Senegal (Cdeps)

“The 21st century we live in today with the Internet means that information is free,” he says. Before adding that they are thinking about “how to convey information and at the same time monetize it”. According to the head of the Senegalese media management, “there is also a need for a change in the management of press companies”. Hence, according to him, the importance of this programme proposed by Supdeco x Ina.

The president of the National Audiovisual Regulatory Council (Cnra), for his part, confides that this master is necessary given the current context with the new challenges. Mr Babacar Diagne stressed the need for management to keep pace with the power of media developments. “Anyone who runs a media outlet must have a quality education commensurate with their responsibilities,” he explains.
