Conference on “The Energy Issue: Challenges and Prospects in Senegal and Africa” with IST

« La question énergétique - enjeux et perspectives au Sénégal et en Afrique »avec l'institut supérieur des transports supdeco dakar - Transport et logistique

The issue of energy is vital, one only has to look at the importance of electricity in our daily lives to be convinced of it. And the use of energy has become widespread. Energy consumption has increased 20 times in a century, while the world’s population has increased only 4 times: we can speak of an explosion in consumption. However, energy resources are not infinite, and if we want to continue using them, we will have to learn how to manage them sustainably.

It’s in this perspective, the School of Transport and Logistics of the Supdeco Dakar group organized, as part of its master’s degree in Petroleum Trading and Logistics, an important conference on the topic “The energy issue: stakes and perspectives in Senegal and Africa”, moderated by Mr. Gueorgui Thielo, Energy Engineer, graduate of the Ifp-school, Mechanical Engineer, graduate of Utc Compiegne, DESS in renewable energy, Polytechnique Montréal and founding member of the Ubuntu 2050 association set up. popularising energy and climate transition issues.

The issue of energy is an ambiguous subject, and the complexity of the input data calls for different solutions in different regions of the world.

Two topics will dominate our professional and personal lives over the next 30 years, regardless of the industry: energy and climate transition.

The energy issue must be considered as a solution tripod: one for sobriety, one for renewables and one for more carbon-neutral fossil solutions (Cole gas).

At the end of this activity, the participants expressed the wish that the meeting be organised more regularly.
