[INTERNATIONAL] – The CEO of Supdeco Dakar Group received in audience by President Adama Barrow

On Friday 31 March 2023, the President of the Republic of the Gambia, Mr.Adama Barrow received in audience a delegation of the Supdeco Dakar Group, led by the CEO Mr. Aboubacar Sedikhe Sy. In addition to the CEO, the delegation included the Deputy Director General Mr. Abdoul Aziz Sy, the Director of International Relations Dr. Djiby Anne and the Project Manager of the Banjul Campus, Mr. Abdou Faye.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss with the President of The Gambia about the Group’s activities in The Gambia. Reminder The Supdeco Group opened the Banjul Campus in 2020, in partnership with MDI (Management Development Institute). In his speech, Mr. Sy spoke about the vision of the Supdeco Group, but also about the Banjul Campus project. It intends to contribute to the spread of the Gambian higher education through the training of young Gambians who are the bearers of the country’s development. Beyond the Gambia, the CEO reviewed the African ambitions of the Supdeco Group in the areas of education and training.

President Barrow congratulated and praised the efforts of the Supdeco Group in The Gambia, assuring that private sector investment in higher education is making an invaluable contribution to the country’s economic growth. According to President Adama Barrow, the presence of a renowned private institution like Supdeco in The Gambia will strengthen the capacity of citizens and consolidate the close relationship that already exists between The Gambia and Senegal.

President Barrow thanked the Supdeco Group for choosing the Gambia as a sub-regional hub for English-speaking West Africa, which he said will promote the integration of the people of the sub-region. Finally, he expressed the Gambian government’s support for the Supdeco Group, so that its establishment in the Gambia takes place under the best conditions.
