As part of the series of meetings “Les Mardis de l’entreprise”, the School of Engineering and Technology of the Supdeco Dakar Group had the honor to host the Acan Group on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, for an exciting conference on “OTT & Media Platforms in Senegal”.
The conference was moderated by a team of experienced professionals from Acan Group. Mr. Cherif Ahmedou Ly, Technical Director of Acan Group, accompanied by his colleagues Ms. Khady Sabara Gueye, Network Engineer Responsible Service, and Daouda Thera, Project Manager / Full Stack Developer, presented a detailed overview of OTT platforms and their growing impact on the Senegalese media landscape. Ly explained how these platforms, by allowing content to be delivered directly over the internet, are disrupting traditional media consumption patterns and opening up new opportunities for local content creators.
The meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Falou Ndoye, Director of the School of Engineering, and Dr. Fatou Faye Diouf, providing a framework conducive to exchanges and questions. The students and professionals in attendance had the opportunity to interact directly with the company, asking pertinent questions and getting enlightening answers about the fast-changing digital media sector in Senegal.
The event highlighted the challenges and opportunities associated with OTT platforms, while highlighting the crucial role of technological innovation in media development in Senegal. The School of Engineering and Technology of the Supdeco Dakar Group, through its initiatives such as “Les Mardis de l’entreprise”, continues to promote dialogue between academia and professionals, thus contributing to the development of the technology sector in Senegal.
