As part of its pedagogical approach focused on professionalization and experiential learning, the Higher Institute of Transport (IST) of the Supdeco Group organized an educational visit for its students in the 2nd year of Transport and Logistics at the site of the future deep-water port of Ndayane, currently under construction.
This academic outing is part of the IST’s goal to allow students to better understand the realities and challenges of the transportation and logistics sector, through a large-scale project that is expected to play a strategic role in the economic and commercial development of Senegal.
During this immersion, students were able to:
- discover the site of the Ndayane port project and its environment;
- understand the objectives, vision, and different phases of construction of the future port;
- understand the role of the port in decongesting the Autonomous Port of Dakar and positioning Senegal as a regional logistics hub;
- discuss professions and career opportunities related to port, maritime, and logistics activities.
This visit allowed the learners to connect theoretical teachings with their practical application in the field, while strengthening their understanding of the current and future dynamics of the sector.
Through this type of initiative, the Groupe Supdeco’s Higher Institute of Transport reaffirms its commitment to providing quality training that is connected to professional realities and focused on employability.
