African Culture Week in Supdeco Dakar

From 08 to 11 May 2024, our Dakar Campus vibrated to the rhythm of the African Culture Week, organized by the Student Offices. Under the captivating theme “Youth and Culture for Sustainable Development in Africa”, each day was a celebration of the continent’s diversity and cultural richness.

The inaugural ceremony at the Grand Théâtre marked the beginning of the festivities with the participation of more than a dozen nationalities, each bringing a unique glow of its culture through artistic performances and culinary delights. This day was a true journey of discovery through African traditions and customs.

The second day was devoted to a panel discussion on the main theme of the week. Facilitated by eminent personalities such as Mr Mohamadou Manel FALL, Director of Tourism Promotion of Senegal, Mr Mamadou DIOP, Director of Student Life at Supdeco, and moderated by Ms Ndaye Coumba Laye SECK, President of BDE Campus Faidherbe, the panel was an opportunity for enriching exchanges and deep reflections on the importance of youth and culture for sustainable development in Africa.

Finally, the closing ceremony took place during the gala dinner at the Radisson on May 11. It was a time of conviviality and elegance, where the bonds forged during the week were strengthened around a festive table.

This African Culture Week has been much more than a series of events; it has been a reflection of unity in diversity, the vitality of youth and the power of culture to shape a sustainable future for our continent.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this event a memorable success.

Congratulations to the two BDE Chairs and members.
