This event was held at the Point E Campus Amphitheatre as well as online, allowing for expanded participation.

The main speaker of the conference, Dr. Gora NIANG, Director of the Centre for Environmental Training Education (CEFE) in the Ministry of Environment, Sustainable Development and Ecological Transition, shared his extensive knowledge and expertise on environmental issues. Moderation was provided by Dr. Malick MANE, Statistical Economist and Director of the Supdeco School of Economics (2SE), who skillfully orchestrated the discussions and exchanges between the participants and the facilitator.

The conference began with an explanation of the concept of ecocitizenship, highlighting its vital role in promoting sustainable practices within organizations. Dr. Gora NIANG stressed the need to raise awareness and educate citizens, as well as corporate employees, to adopt responsible behaviours towards the environment. He went on to paint a picture of current global environmental challenges, including climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution, highlighting the urgency of collective action to mitigate these problems.

One of the highlights of the conference was the analysis of the role of organizations in promoting eco-citizenship. Dr. NIANG explained how companies can integrate sustainable practices into their daily operations and how this can improve their overall performance and reputation. Several concrete examples of eco-citizen initiatives implemented by local and international companies were presented, illustrating how simple but effective actions can have a significant impact on the environment.
